1964年東京オリンピック開催に向けて、日本の芸術を世界に示す意気込みで国立競技場に制作された13作品の壁画（ガラスモザイクおよびタイルモザイク）。そのうち2作品は新国立競技場内の新博物館に設置が予定されていますが、残る11作品の行き先は未定です。

原画作者は宮本三郎、脇田 和、寺田竹雄、大沢昌助。戦後日本美術のモダニズム絵画を象徴する貴重な作品群です。

本来は、制作された旧国立競技場にそのまま残り続けることが望ましかったのですが、競技場解体と共に分割し切り出され、一時仮置き場に移されています（屋外）。

東京オリンピックのメモリアルモニュメントとして、13作品一括した再展示を新国立競技場敷地内に要望します！

The National Stadium is found in Kasumigaoka, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. It served as the main stadium for opening and closing ceremonies as well as the venue for track and field events at the 1964 Summer Olympic Games.

The current stadium, which opened in 1958 will be demolished this year. The site will be  renovated to be a new larger-capacity National Olympic Stadium for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

There were 13 beautiful wall paintings in the old stadium. They were produced by 4 famous Japanese artists, who were Saburo Miyamoto, Kazu Wakita, Takeo Terada and Shosuke Osawa in 1964 for Tokyo Olympic Games and symbolized the modernism painting of postwar Japanese art.

Even though all of the works has been very valuable works of art, Tokyo plans to exhibit only two of them from the museum of the old stadium, but the rest of 11 paintings’ destination is undecided.

We would like to herein remind our officials that, unlike the old stadium, these paintings are not structural entities that need to be repaired because of age, but timeless and ageless works of art.They portray and symbolize the important period in our nation’s history. We believe not re-exhibiting all of the 13 wall paintings together in the new stadium is dishonorable to the memorial monuments of the Tokyo Olympics and the original forefathers who designed it!

Please maintain the integrity of these original designs which are like fine wine, only improve with age and inherit an important memory to be passed down to future generations
